Life on the River

“Mom in the River” Battambang, Cambodia.

“We need to awaken to a common consciousness of all being inhabitants of Earth. This consciousness is not to be found in some distant place. It will not be found on a computer screen. It lies in our hearts, in our ability to share the pain of our fellow human beings. It is the spirit that says: “As long as you are suffering, whoever you are and whatever your suffering may be, I suffer also.”

Daisaku Ikeda

…to get to Siem Reap there are numerous busses from every corner of Cambodia…but if you find yourself in the town of  Battambang, and you are able to sacrifice a bit of commodity for a some real river life, get on the local boat between the two cities…and I will promise you the most spectacular family moments by the river, on enchanting floating villages…

    • Oh I hope you’ll love Cambodia an have an amazing time there! As it is a wonderful country made of the most gentle people. Battambang is not so special, so don’t worry, but the floating villages were, and I think you can see part of the villages from small tours starting from Siem Reap 😀
